Scholarship Applications

The NCAPPA Scholarship Program was established in order to enhance the training opportunities for further development in the field of facilities management. The goal of the program is to improve skills and performance of the awardee for their perspective institution and to advance the purposes of the Association. The following is typical training that may be considered for the scholarship:

  • Other leadership or technical training applicable to facilities management
  • NCAPPA Educational Conference
  • SRAPPA/APPA – Supervisors Tool Kit
  • Technical training in the areas of Housekeeping, Grounds, Utilities, and Maintenance

The following criteria will be taken into account by the NCAPPA Board in the evaluation of applications:

  • Supervisor’s Tool Kit training must be from school located in North Carolina. If you do not have a specific date – submit the application to request next available training in North Carolina and Board will notify you of upcoming training. 
  • Applicant is a full-time employee of an educational institution and has or is acquiring relevant qualification for the position currently held.
  • Applicant is actively involved in NCAPPA, SRAPPA and/or APPA activities. 
  • Applicant has demonstrated the ability to present himself  / herself well among a peer group, both in technical and personality terms.
  • Applicant will approach a learning experience with an open mind and be willing to share experiences with others.
  • Applicant plans to pursue or continue a career in facilities management and displays high motivation and leadership ability.
  • Training requested is applicable to the facilities profession.
  • Particular hardships by a facilities department that limits instructional funds from being utilized for training purposes.
  • Application and requester resume and statement
  • Supervisor’s evaluation and recommendation letter
  • Typically, no more than one nomination per individual and no more than three nominations per institution each year.
  • Number and amount of each scholarship will be based on funding availability.
  • NCAPPA Conference registration scholarships – Needs based scholarships – maximum of 3 per school to cover registration costs only. (Registration to the NCAPPA Conference for school members is $200 per person)

The application, applicant’s resume/statement, and Supervisor’s letter should be sent by mail, email, or fax no later than April 17, 2026. The applications will be reviewed, and scholarships awarded no later than the Fall Board meeting. Once the applicant has been approved by the NCAPPA Board, applicants will be notified by email of the scholarship approval.
